Stevo is a Dublin born Animator & Illustrator. He moved to London in the mid 90’s to pursue a career in traditional animation. It was here; through work at a new media company he was introduced to Flash animation. Having learnt about new media, web design and authoring, Stevo was employed by boo.com. Since then he has worked for a vast array of companies both in full time and freelance positions. He is currently working freelance from his studio in East London.
The V&A Illustration Awards, sponsored by the Enid Linder Foundation, are the premier awards for book and editorial illustration in the UK
Entries are now being accepted for the 2009 Student Illustrator Awards. The Awards offers prizes for unpublished illustration or animation. They also support and promote the development of contemporary illustration in the UK at grassroots level.
In 2007, for the first time, student entrants applied and were judged online. The sheer range and high standard of entries confirm the exciting and varied potential of illustration.
Entry into the Awards is free
Student Illustrator of the Year entries are encouraged from anyone who has attended an illustration course at any time during 2007 or 2008. The brief is open. Students may submit material set as coursework by their tutors or they may define their own brief.
The Prize
The Student Illustrator of the Year will receive £2,000
and a trophy. The runner up will receive £1,000.
How to enter
Entry into the Student Illustrator category of the Awards
is via the online entry form. Entrants may submit up to
three images of their work. One animation per entrant
may also be submitted.
